Graphic design definition
The art or skill of combining text and pictures in advertisements, magazines, books, posters or websites.
Contrast
Created when placed with 2 dofferent or opposite elements together. Allows important things to pop out, using font style, size and colour
Repetition
Principle of design states to repeat some aspect of the design throughout the entire project.
Alignment
Use to create order, organize, group items, creats connections. Good alignment is invisible
Proximity
State of an object being near another, creates connection between grouped elements on a page.
Colour wheel
Helps to decide choosing colors for project
Complementary colours
Colours that are opposite on the color wheel. Used to create excitment using contrast. Helps to stand out
Analogous colours
Close to colour wheel, always work well together.
