Street fashion
Street style is a specific fashion style which comes originally from British fashion culture. It is a comprehensive approach to fashion and produces styles which intersect and differ from mainstream fashion considerations.
Description
The “street” approach to style and fashion is often based on individualism, rather than focusing solely on current fashion trends. Using street style methods, individuals demonstrate their multiple, negotiated identities, in addition to utilizing subcultural and intersecting styles or trends. This, in itself, is a performance, as it creates a space where identities can be explored through the act(ion) of dress
Types
(Music ) Fashion related to music subcultures such as hip hop or punk.
(Retro) Embracing mainstream or subculture styles from a historical period.
(Rebels) Subcultures that have a rebellious or political orientation.
(Pop CultureStyles) influenced by popular culture such as Japanese manga and anime.
(Aesthetics)Embracing an aesthetic such as extreme cuteness.
IdentityExpressing identity such as intelligence, cultural or social status. For example, a subculture that views itself as an intellectual
