State why there are different time zones throughout the world
The Earth rotates 15 degrees every hour. The sun is at its highest point of the day at different times for different countries.
We can divide the earth into 24 zones, 15 degrees each at the equator.
State the three time zones that cover Australia
AWST: +8hrs H
ACST: +9.5 hrs I/K
AEST: +10hrs K
Define UTC
UTC = coordinated universal time. It is a starting point to determine time in other countries. Time zones are measured to a point called Greenwhich meridian or Prime Meridian.
