DAY 1:
PITTING EDEMA
Pitting edema is a condition where excess fluid builds up in the tissues of the body, causing swelling and indentation or pitting when pressure is applied. It can occur in various parts of the body, but is most commonly seen in the legs, ankles, and feet. Pitting edema can be caused by a variety of factors, including heart or kidney failure, liver disease, pregnancy, certain medications, and prolonged sitting or standing.
It can also be a symptom of underlying medical conditions such as lymphedema or venous insufficiency. Treatment for pitting edema depends on the underlying cause and may include lifestyle changes, such as losing weight or wearing compression stockings, as well as medication or surgery in more severe cases. It is important to seek medical attention if you experience persistent pitting edema or if it is accompanied by other symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or fever.
