Three major narrative styles encountered in the oral history storytelling process
1) unified
2) segmented
3) conversational
4) episodic storytelling
- The way participants tell their stories may largely be influenced by factors such as race, gender, education, work, and geographic location.
Oral History
method of open ended interview, usually occurring in multiple sessions, where a researcher aims at interviewing a person about his or her life or a significant aspect of it. This is a highly collaborative interview method resulting in a co-created narrative.
