What are the main symptoms of bowel cancer?
Change in bowl habits and blood in faeces

Define cancer
Cancer describes a disease characterisedby the progressive and uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells
Chemotherapy involves the action of drugs that act selectively on the cancer cells. what does this include?
destroying the tumor cells or stopping them from multiplying
What other effects does this have on nearby cells?
The drugs used may also affect the normal tissue because the drugs at on all rapidly dividing cells not just the tumor. They may cause destruction of white blood cells, hair loss, sterility and affect the mouth and intestines
Explain radiotherapy
Using inoizing radiation, normally a source of damage to DNA, to treat cancer tumors. As the ratiation passes through the diseased tissue it destroys or slow fown the development of abnormal cells.
Are their any side effects? If so, what are they?
The side effects are short-livrd and involve minor burning of the skin and some localised hair loss
Surgical removal may be necessary to remove promary tumors and is often combined with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. This method is used to treat what kind of cancer usually?
