Define criminal law
In criminal law, a person found guilty of a crime is punished by either a prison sentence or fine paid to the government.
Define civil law
In civil law, a private party eg. A corporate or individual or person, files a lawsuit and becomes a plantiff and the person against whom the civil action is brought is called the defendant.
Name the difference between civil and crimal law
One of the most fundamental differences between civil and criminal law is the notion of punishment.
