Double V Campaign
Campaign led by NAACP during WWII to achieve victory against fascism abroad and racism at home. One of the origins of Civil Rights Movement. Also the desire for change felt by many African Americans after leaving behind the familiar rural communities of the South for the complex urban landscapes of the North before and during the war.
Montgomery Bus Boycott
1955-56. Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger and is arrested in 1955. Led to a year-long boycott of the bus company and the elimination of the policy that says Blacks should give up their seats to Whites. Was headed by Martin Luther King.
