Are rights and freedoms absolute?
What are the procedures if you think you have been treated unfairly?
-can appeal to the provincial court
-If you don’t like that decision you can appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Canada what the supreme court says goes.
What is a freedom?
List the three chartered freedoms and give an example for each.
List the 7 Charter of Rights with a description for each.
-Legal Rights- Treated fairly when dealing with the justice system
-Equality Rights- Being treated equally with no form of discrimination
-Equality Rights and Sexual Orientation-Treated equally( gay, lesbian, bisexual)
-Disability Rights- Ensures that people with physical and mental disabilities have access to services.
-Minority Language Education Rights- Ensures that French and English through every territory. (Provides everything in French and English in Canada)
-Aboriginal Rights- Recognizing the treaty and land rights of the first nations.
