Most spins only cause 2 G's of force, but the repetitive spinning makes the force add up.
In extreme cases, concussion symptoms have been found but most cases there is only headaches and dizziness.
When you spin in a layback spin, all the blood is forced to your head, which pops blood vessels, and then when the spin is stopped the blood rushes out which causes the skater to faint.
Dr. Wang says that skating is safe, but like in any sport awareness is the key to prevention.
