Velocity
If position is equal to p(t), with t being time, velocity is equal to p'(t), or v(t).
Acceleration
If the velocity of a particle is equal to v(t), with t being time, the acceleration is equal to v'(t); similarly, if the position is equal to p(t), with t being time, then the acceleration is equal to p''(t). Acceleration may be stated as a function, a(t), with t being time.
Position
The position of a particle along the x axis can be stated as a function, p(t), with t being time.
