Through fractional distillation as the hydrocarbons have different boiling points.
What makes crude oil boil whilst the other molecules stay as a liquid?
Crude oil has intermolecular bonds whereas the hydrocarbon molecules have covalent bonds. These covalent bonds are a lot stronger.
