What happens when cell division goes wrong?
Cancer= The cell division disease
Cancer(tumor):
Tumor grows from a single cancer cell.
Cancer cells invade neighboring tissue.
Cancer cells spread to other parts of the body.
Cancer calls may survive and establish a new tumor in another part of the body
Checkpoints:
When a dividing cell CHECKS if everything is okay before allowing the next phase to happen.
--Prevent mother cells from dividing of they dont have enough resources to make 2 viable daughter cells
--prevent defective cells, like precancerous or virus infected cells from dividing.
--Keep cell division at the correct rate for an organ to maintain the right size.
