Because an embryo is a potential human life. However, most of the embryos are unwanted and come from fertility clinics, so would die anyway. They might as well go towards saving a life.
What are some medical uses of stem cells?
They can cure paralysis.
They can be used to make insulin producing cells for people with diabetes

The meristem

You can clone plants.
This is useful for farmers, as they can clone the stronger crops.
Scientists can clone a species to stop it becoming extinct.
What is the definition of diffusion?
The spreading out of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
What is osmosis?
Osmosis is the flow of water molecules across a partially permeable membrane, from a region of high water concentration to a region of low water concentration.
What is active transport?
When a cell uses energy to move substances against the concentration gradient
