The Behavioural Approach
As humans, we are born with a 'blank slate/tebula rasa'. All human behaviour is learned from environmental experience via Classical Conditioning (learning through reinforcement) and Social Learning Theory (learning by observation).
The Cognitive Approach
Human behaviour is affected by internal mental processes, including cognitions (thoughts) and schemes (cognitive representation of a person, item, place or situation).
The Biological Approach (including The Evolutionary Approach)
Human behaviour is affected by internal bodily activity, including genetic factors, brain organisation, and neurochemistry (neurotransmitter and hormone levels). As such The Biological Approach assumes that all behaviour has evolved and is now genetically predisposed.
