Analog Music Source examples
1. Tape recorder: It changes the magnetization of the magnetic tape in a cassette tape. You can plug a tape deck into a recording device to make a digital copy.
2. Record cutter: carves the grooves of a vinyl record to make a physical representation of sound. Rip the vinyl through a preamp into a sound card to get a digital copy.
What is an analog music source?
Made from an analog medium, which is any object that stores music by being physically altered. You must use a digital converter to convert the physical changes to digital file.

CDs, DVDs, Super Audio CDs (SACD), Web store downloads (iTunes, Amazon, etc.)
What is a digital music source?
Does not need to be converted as it has already been encoded into a format that can be read by a computer.
