Jargon
Register: The language you use to address people. you probably use an informal register with your friends, a formal register to address the queen. You have multiple registers.
Jargon: Field-specific lexis, or specific language used to discuss a certain topic.
Mode: the topic/ subject you are talking/ writing about. you would use different language to discuss food and football. You would employ specific vocabulary.
Manner: this refers to the relationship we have with other participants. You would use different levels of formality and different registers.
Mode: written or spoken discourse.
