If the vectors are all in the same plane, they are called coplanar vectors.
Vectors whose lines of action meet at one point are called concurrent vectors.
The resultant of a system of vectors is the single vector that can replace the system of vectors and have the same effect. The resultant may be found by drawing a vector diagram and measuring the resultant (graphical method), or by calculation (analytical method).
A vector diagram shows the vectors to scale with angles accurately drawn , as in a space diagram.However , the positions of the vectors are shifted so that the head of one vector joins the tail of the next vector to form a continuous path.
To draw a vector diagram:
