The replacement of worn-out, damaged, or dead cells.

What is the parenchyma?
The functional parts of any organ, as opposed to tissue that forms its stroma or framework.

Continuous capacity.
What connective tissues has continuous capacity for renewal?
Bone
What connective tissue replenishes cells much less readily?
Cartilage
What kind of capacity does muscular tissue have for cell renewal?
Relatively poor

Nervous tissue has the poorest capacity
