Who can donate to or receive blood from the Dept's blood program?
Active or Retired UMOS or CMOS and their families
When a MOS needs blood or wishes to donate to the Dept's blood program, they will do this
Call donation center and identify self as an active or retired MOS and give Dept ID# 5239
Make appointment to donate:
UMOS - during own time
CMOS - during scheduled work hours
Eat before giving blood but avoid fatty foods
List the reasons a UMOS/CMOS may not give blood
Have given blood within 8 weeks
Gave 5 pints the year before
Under 17 or Over 75 years old
Had malaria, jaundice or TB within the prior 2 years
Had hepatitis
Had a tooth pulled within the prior 3 days
Weigh less than 110 lbs
Other disqualifying medical condition
