Draconian Laws
1.) Developed in Ancient Greece.
2.) Known for extremely harsh penalties for minor offenses
3.) Said to be written in blood, rather than ink. Death was prescribed for almost all criminal offenses.
How did law develop in America?
1.) 1st Americans
2.) Had rules to bring about peace among tribes.
3.) They formed Iroquois League.
4.) Europeans came to America for different reasons (gain wealth, escape religious persecution.)
5.) Settled in 13 British colonies.
6.) Settlers brought their English laws, customs/traditions with them.
