Truncated Lens with PRISIM
Wesley Jessen brand.
No longer used!!

Uncomfortable, cornea issues (CCC).
Prism Ballast Lens
Still used today, but worsen the fit due to inferior thickness.

Adds 0.75 to 2.0D of prism.

Gravity has NO role in position, but the "watermelon seed principle" keeps the position.
B&L OPTIMA Toric
FRONT Surface Toric PRISIM BALLAST.

Has prism.

B&L OPTIMA Toric (3 30° marker lines).

Good for small eyes/kids.
Chamfer/Lenticulation of CL
Reducing the lens mass and increasing comfort by thinning edges of lens. Allow more uniform thickness to decrease lid influence and add stability.

Used in Periballast and Eccentric Lenticulation.
Thin Zone Design (Double Slab-Off or Dynamic Stabilization)
Double Slab-Off, Dynamic Stabilization, Thin Zone Design

There is a double slab off design on the upper and lower edges.
NO PRISM.

Good for using with one eye sph, other toric.

Works best with ATR and high MYOPES. Less stable in WTR, hyperopes.

Marker: Two horizontal lines at 3 and 9 o'clock.
Three Thin Zone Designed Lenses
1. CIBA Torisoft
2. Focus Toric
3. 1st Generation AV Toric
CIBA Torisoft
Thin Zone Design, Double Slab off

Marks at 3 and 9 o'clock.

No prism.
Periballast Lens
A high minus lenticular with the UPPER CARRIER removed.

No PRISM.

Helpful in HIGH CYLINDER and in STABILIZING oblique axis.

No longer on market.
Sunsoft Toric
Periballast toric.
Eccentric Lenticulation
Lens optics are not exactly centered in the lens.

BACK TORIC!!!

Custum Designed Lens for HIGH CYLINDER patients with SPECIFIC AXIS (periballast good also, but no longer available).

Uniform lens thickness in circumference so CYLINDER does not affect the rotation. It is CONFINED to the CENTER of the lens.

Laser mark at 6 o'clock.

Sunsoft, Coopervision Hydrasoft Toric
Coopervision Hydrasoft Toric
Eccentric lenticulation.

Back toric.

Changing RX will not change lens rotation since uniformly thin around edges.

Bullet Mark at 6 o'clock.
Biomedic 55 Toric
Dr. Silbert's favorite lens.

Cooper Vision, monthly disposable HEMA lens.

PRISM Ballasted design.
BACK SURFACE toric.
