Function
a predefined formula that performs calculations using specific values called arguments.
f4 key
allows you to switch back and forth between relative, absolute, and mixed references.
Mini Tool bar
a toolbar that appears next to the pointer whenever you select text and contains buttons for the most commonly used formatting commands. Such as font, font size, styles, color alignment, and indents that may appear in different groups or tabs on the ribbon.
Embedded Charts
- a chart that is displayed within a worksheet and one that you can place along side the data source, giving context to the chart. The advantage of an embedded chart is that you can display the chart alongside any text or figures that can explain the charts meaning and purpose.
IF Function
A logical function that returns on value if the statement is true and returns a different value if the statement is false
Object Linking and embedding
the technology that allows you to copy and paste objects, such as graphic files, cell and ranges, or charts, so that information about the program that created the object is included with the object itself. (if you want to create a live connection between two files, so that changes in the source file are automatically reflected in the destination file, you must use object linking and embedding.)

An interactive table that enables yo to group and summarize either a range of data or an excel table into a concise, tabular format for easier reporting and analysis.

The process of temporarily hiding records that do not meet the specified criteria
Hyperlink
a link file, such as a workbook, to information within that file or another file that, when clicked, switches to the file or portion of the file referenced by the hyperlink

The process of rearranging data in a certain order, such as ascending or descending
AND Function
A logical function that returns a TRUE value if all the logical conditions are true and a FLASE value if any or all of the logical conditions are false

Two Variable Data Tables
a data table used in a what if analysis that uses two input cells, but displays only the value of a single result cell
NOW Function
NOW functions are updated automatically whenever you reopen the workbook or enter a new calculation. If you don’t want the date and time to change, you must enter the date and time value directly in the cell. NOW() displays the current date and time
Data Marker
the graphical representation of the values in the data series of chart, including items such as each column in a column chart, the pie slices in a pie chart, and the points used in XY scatter charts.
Conditional Formatting
a setting that applies formatting only when a cell’s value meets a specified condition
