Exposure: will cut clothes off, want to do evaluation touching bare skin. Can determine a lot just by exposing body (all sides).
What is the secondary survey?
a more comprehensive head-to-toe assessment. X-rays, ultrasounds, etc.
What is the basis for the levels of triage in mass casualty?
greatest good for the greatest number of people
What are the 4 levels of triage in mass casualty?
-Emergent (Red)
-Urgent (yellow)
-Non-urgent (green)
-DOA (black)
What does emergent (red) level of triage in mass casualty mean?
-Life or limb: hemorrhaging 4m femoral artery, life threatening but we can do something about it. If someone needs very aggressive care to survive, probably won't receive care.
What does urgent (yellow) level of triage in mass casualty mean?
need care but are currently stable. Won't die w/in next hour.

Ex: compound fracture
What does non-urgent (green) level of triage in mass casualty mean?
walking wounded. Need care but even if takes 24 hrs to get to them won't die. Can get themselves to hospital.
