Neolithic beginnings- (Longshan) built walled settlements larger than villages, bronze tools, weapons, and ornamentsm used pictnographic and ideographic script- not phonic, it represents what you are saying. INSCRIPTION: shoulder bonesor touqouis shells- orm of a ? on it and cracked by fire supposedly answered ; also oracle bone inscription w. list of Shang kings a brief royal activities
HUNT: many animals perished
DEITY: ancestoral worships- slaves not have ancestors or worhip them
LIVING: royal- luxury houses.; common people- simple pit dwelling
CLIMATE: semirad and prone to drpughts and floods; N. China- not much evidence of irrigation;high loess soil.
DECLINE/FALL: wealth increased- many envied tem b/c they sacriiced alot of the ZHOU
