356 B.C.

Yes, he cried as a boy when he thought that his father was going to conquer the whole world before he was able to.

Achilles was his hero. He took the armor from Achilles tomb. He carried a copy of the Illiad with him everywhere.

He was Alexander's giant black horse that he tamed as a boy. The horse was afraid of his shadow.

He was 16. When his father was away in battle he made him regent.

It was the third and last battle between Alexander and Darius III. It resulted in the fall of the Persian Empire.
What happened at Tyre?
The famous battle of the coast of Palestine where Alexander filled the ocean with rocks and dirt turning the island into a peninsula. He crucified all of the male inhabitants of the city and sold all of the women and children into slavery.
What else did Alexander conquer?
He defeated Babylon, Syria, and Egypt. In Egypt, he founded the city of Alexandria, named after himself, which became the capitol and remained so for a long time.
When did Alexander stop?
He pressed all of the way to India, but his soldiers refused to go any further.
What is a Phalanx?
The hoplites would lock their shields together, and the first few ranks o soldiers would project their spears out over the first rank of shields. The phalanx therefore presented a shield wall and a mass of spear points to the enemy, making frontal assaults much more difficult.
