FGF stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen which results in scarring.
PDGF and transforming growth factor-Beta (TGF-B).
Interferon-y(gamma) (activates macrophages.
Granulomatous inflammation
Important type of chronic inflammation
Description: Forms a Granuloma, a collection of epitheloid histocytes (also known as macrophages)
Morphology: Collection of activated macrophages; can have multinuclated giant cells.
Causes: Mycobacteria, fungi, foreign material, sarcoidosis and silica.
Indication: Granulomas indicate a failure to resolve by adaptive cellular mechanisms.
