Me starting scene.
Me: It's February and I have an appointment for a physical. In the waiting room are two people, much older than I--very nice looking, tidy, intelligent-looking couple, both probably in their eighties. Here to see the doctor to I guess. So I'm sitting there in my February state of mind and this nice old man next to me nudges me and says...
Pete: Merry Christmas.
Me: This is February right? Yeah. It's February. And I look at him, "Merry Christmas to you," And he sits back...and he starts singing.
Pete: Santa Clause is coming to town.
Me: All the way through, finishes the song, says...
Pete: Merry Christmas.
Me: And I say, "Merry Christmas," back to him and I'm thinking, could be me.
Well the nurse comes for him, and he goes off.
Katie: They love to do it.
Me: Just then old Fred comes shuffling back up the hall with the nurse.
Pete: Merry Christmas
Me: Merry Christmas
