(Wife) Orville...? Orville! Quit fussing around back there and help me close up shop. It's Christmas Eve, for Goodness sake!

(Toy Maker) just give me...

(Wife) I know, I know..

(Wife + Toy Maker) Five more minutes!

(Wife) Orville your five more minutes ran out five minutes ago

(Toy Maker) Just hold on to your little apron, woman! I got something to show you. Help me bring it out here.

(Wife) oh my! Now, isn't he the cutest thing!

(Toy Maker) Just finished him, haven't even put on his strings yet. I'm just sorry I didn't have him ready in time fot Christmas.

(Wife) Don't fret about that, dear. He'll be among friends here and that's really what Christmas is about anyway. Don't you think?

(Toy Maker) Yes, Elmira. I guess you're right about that. Goodbye, little puppet. Goobye to all our little friends. Well? What are you lollygaggin' around here for, woman? It's Christmas Eve, and there's lots to do

(Carol-Ann) You know the rules! Nobody goes to bed until this room is clean enough for Aunt Cora.

(Tommy) And it's never clean enough for Aunt Cora!

But then, one Christmas Eve- -

Oh! Christmas and Santa Claus and red-nosed reindeers! Do you think that any one of us is ever going to really know the joys of Christmas? We can forget about Christmas this year... Or next year... Or any test that mean old Aunt Cora is in charge here! While she's in command, it's just work, work, work... From the moment we get up in the morning 'til the time she finally lets us go to sleep at night.

Quiet, Tommy! What if she were to hear you? Do you want get us all in trouble?

No matter what we do, no matter what we say... We're in trouble! Well, I say if we're gonna be in trouble no matter what we do; we might as well do something troublesome!

(Carol-Ann) like what?

(Tommy) Like... Ants in her bed!

(Carol-Ann) Now. Now. Is that any way to talk? And on Christmas Eve! Tommy, do you know what you need?

(Tommy) a new bucket?

(Carol-Ann) You should be looking around at all the things that you have!

(Tommy) What I have is a dented bucket!

(Carol-Ann) And you have all of us!

(Tommy) Oh now, that's just what I need!

(Aunt Cora) What's going on in there

(Tommy) Guess what kids.

(Nicholas) everyone wake up! Wake up!

(Tommy) Just give me five more minutes

(Carol-Ann) Isn't this a wonderful Jack-in-the-box, Tommy?

(Tommy) Yeah it's pretty neat

(Carol-Ann) Well if you like it, why don't you take it?

(Tommy) You mean. You're just going to give him to me? Something you'd like for yourself?

(Carol-Ann) Why, sure! That's what Christmas spirit is all about.

(Tommy) You mean. You're just gonna give him to me? Something that you'd like for yourself?

(Carol-Ann) That's what having Christmas spirit is all about!

(Tommy) Oh. Well tell you what, why don't you take the Jack in the box. After all, you did see it first. I'll find something

(Carol-Ann) That's very sweet of you, Tommy

(Tommy) No, it ain't! I mean, I'm just too big for some dumb old jack in the box! I'll take. This beat up old teddy bear instead

(Teddy) Hey!

(Tommy) And now, I'm going back to bed!

(Aunt Cora) something that I learned from you. My newfound friend

(Tommy) Yeah, well... Let's get to the point here. Does all this mushy stuff mean we keep the toys or what?
