Describes users and the people with whom they are conversing being online at the same time.
search engine
Program that finds Web sites, Web pages, images, videos, news, and other information related to a specific topic.
Streaming
Process of transferring data in a continuous and even flow.
Uploading
Process of transferring documents, graphics, and other objects from a computer to a server on the Internet.
URL
Unique address for a Web page. See also Uniform Resource Locator or Web address.
Web address

Web browser
Application software that allows users to access and view Web pages. Also called a browser.
Web page
Electronic document on the Web, which can contain text, graphics, audio, and video and often has built-in connections to other documents.
Web server
Computer that delivers requested Web pages to a computer.
Web site
Collection of related Web pages and associated items, such as documents and pictures, stored on a Web server.
Wi-Fi
Short for wireless fidelity. Type of broadband Internet connection that uses radio signals to provide Internet connections to wireless computers and devices.
World Wide Web
Worldwide collection of electronic documents. See also Web.
