Peninsulas and Seas
The Largest peninsula is the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest Asia. The lowest sea is the Dead Sea with 1,312 feet below sea level and is about nine times as salty as the ocean and is located at the mouth of the Jordan River.

The Tigris and Eurphrates Rivers
Both rivers came from within the mountains of eastern Turkey and flow southwest through Syria and Iraq. The Tigris River is about 1,180 miles and the Eurphrates is 1,700 miles long.
Streambeds
Many streams in North Africa and Southwest Asia are not permanent. In the desert, water runoff from infrequent rainstorms creates WADIS.
Petroleum and Natural Gas
Most of the Petroleum and Natural Gas is found in the countries bordering the Persian Gulf and in Algeria and Libya
Other Materials
North Africa and Southwest Asia also have Iron Ore, Copper, Lead, Manganese, and Zinc are found in these areas as well with Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Desert Cilmate
The desert covers about 50% of North Africa and Southwest Asia. Lebanon, Cyprus, and Turkey are the only countries without desert areas. The Sahara is the largest desert in the world.
Mediterranean and Highland Climates
The Mediterranean climate is wet and dry. The Mediterranean climate region consists of hot, dry summers and cool, rainy winters. The Highland Cilmate is wet. The Highland Climate receives mostly rainfall.
Steppe Climate
As distance from the regions coastal areas increases, the average yearly amount of rainfall decrease.
