What was the Free Soil Party?

What was the Wilmot Proviso?
One of the major events leading to the Civil War. This would've banned slavery in any territory won as a result of the war with Mexico.
Who was William Lloyd Garrison?
He was the son of a merchant selling master. Due in large measure to the Embargo act, the Garrison family fell on hard terms.
Who was Frederick Douglas?
Former slave who became a great anti-slave leader.

Law that raised rates to protect and encourage industry. Increased wages of industrial workers
