Results from deficiency in secretion of adrenocortical hormones due to Cortex of adrenal gland being damaged. Most common cause of this-result of body attacking itself (autoimmune disease). Not age or gender related. Diagnosis - blood and urine tests that measure amount of corticosteroid hormones present. Addison's - level of the hormones is very low. Early stage treatment=replacement of adrenocortical hormones and supplemental sodium.

CHT/Congenital hypothyroidism.
Conditions that affects infants from birth (congenital) & results from partial or complete loss of thyroid function (hypothyroidism). CHT occurs when thyroid gland fails to develop or function properly. 80%-85% of cases, thyroid gland is absent, abnormally located or severly reduced in size. Remaining cases-thyroid gland is present, but production of thyroid hormones is decreased or absent. If untreated, congenital hypothyroidism leads to mental retardation and abnormal growth. In developing countries, newborns tested for CHT, and if treatment abegins in first month after birth, infants usually develop normally.
Cretinism
Congenital condition caused by deficiency in secretion of the thyroid hormones and characterized by arrested physical and mental development; treatment consists of appropriate thyroid replacement therapy
Cushing's disease
Results from hypersecretion of cortisol; symptoms include fatigue, muscular weakness, and changes in body appearance. Prolonged administration of large doses of ACTH can cause Cushing's syndrome-characterized by buffalo hump and a moon face.

Condition of excessive amounts of potassium in the blood
Hyperthyroidism
Condition caused by excessive secretion of thyroid hormone that can affect many body systems
