What are the 4 main layers of the atmosphere ?
Troposphere ( this is the one closest to the Earth), Stratosphere, Mesospher, and Thermosphere ( closets to outer space ).
What is conduction ?
Conduction is the transfer of energy as heat through a material.
What is convection ?
Convection is the transher of thermal energy by the ciculation or movement of a liquid or gas .
What is radiation ?
Radiation is the transfer of enegy as electromagnetic waves.
What is air density? Explain the high and low of air density.
Air density is how dens the air is . In the high the density is higherbut in the low the density is lower .
What is air pressure ?
Air pressure is the measure of the force with which air molecules push on a surface . The higher up you go the less air pressure. The lower you go the more air pressure .
What is polar easterlies ?
Polar easterlies is prevailing winds that blow from east to west between 60 and 90 degres latitude in both hemispheres .
What is prevailing westerlies or westerlies ?
Prevailing westerlies is prevailing winds that blow from west to east between 60 and 90 degres latitude in both hemispheres.
What is horse latitudes ?
Horse latitudes are weak winds at 30 degres noth and south latitude.
What are trade winds ?
Trade winds are prevailing winds that blow northeast from 30 degres north latitude to the equator and that blow southeast from 3o degres south latitude to the equator.
What is the presentage of each gas in our atmosphere ?
78% nitrogen , 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038 % carbon dioxide, and 1% water vapor.
What is the ozone ?
The ozone is the layer in between the stratosphere and the mesosphere.
What is land breeze ?
Land breeze is the way the land heats up durring the day and cools durring the night .
What is sea breeze ?
Sea breeze is how the sea heats up slower that land but cools slower than the land at night.
Explain what global warming is ?
Global warming is a gradual increase in average global temperature.
The green house effect is ........
The green house effect is the warming of the surface and the lower atmosphere of Earth that occurs when water vapor , carbon dioxide, and other gases absorb and reradiate thermal energy .
