Computer Literacy

Computer
A general purpose electrical device used to carry out finite logical operations.
Data
A sequence of instructions that detail a task for the computer to perform.
Information
A series of symbols that can be interpreted as a message.
Information Precessing Cycle
IPC. The sequence of events in processing information.
Hardware
The component devices that are the building blocks of computers. (Actual objects)
Input Device
Any piece of hardware used to provide data and control signals. Ex. Mouse, keyboard.
Output Device
Any piece of hardware used to communicate the results of data processing carried out by a computer.
CPU ( Central Processing Unit)

The "Tower" or body of the computer. Contains all hardware essential to a computer i.e. CPU.

A device used for storing data.

A terminal used to send or receive messages by voice or text.
