The Nile River is the longest River in the world. It's considered the source of life in Egypt.. It brings valuable moisture to the parched land. Also, the flood waters carried silt. It served as a major highway, connecting upper egypt to lower egypt. It also provided food.
What is the Rosetta stone?
a slab of black rock which was found in 1799 by french slodiers. On it was an inscription in 3 kinds of writings: Egyption hierogliphics, demotic, and Greek.
Describle upper and lower egypt.
in about 3100 b.c., Menes, the ruler of upper egypt, united the two kingdoms, therefore increasing his power. There capital was at Memphis, where upper and lower egypt met.
What is mummification?
a process that preservied the body of the dead.
Describle the social classes of Egypt. (pyramid)
The pharaoh is at the top of society, jusy below him was a ruling class of priests and nobles. Next came a small middle class of merchants, artisans, doctors, and other skilled workers. Far below, at the bottem of the pyramid, were free peasants and, lastly, athe way bottem, slaves.
Describle the three kingdoms.
The Old Kingdom, The middle kingdom, and the New kingdom.
What are natural Barriers?
