What’s special about book is that Riley actually gets to take care of a three legged dog named Champ. Champ used to be a very famous show dog until a bad car accident happened that caused Champ to brake his leg. The owner, Mrs. Lerner thought Champ was worthless now and thought of putting Champ down. Then Riley said that dog is not worthless and if you wont take care of him I want to keep him! Mrs. Lerner laughed, than said you cant take care of a dog your just a young boy.
