Yellow discoloration of skin, too much bilirubin in the body (body breaks down old red blood cells and removed through body's waste) - use a bili light to correct

Stroking the bottom of the foot will cause toes to extend - pressing on bottom of foot will cause toes to curl

Stepping reflex

When baby is held in upright position and foot touches a surface, the baby raises the foot - when baby is tilted from side-to-side it causes alternate feet to raise, appears like walking

Grasp reflex

Hand will close if finger or rattle is placed in the palm

Tonic neck reflex

Turning head to one side causes baby's arm and leg to extend

Sucking reflex and callus

Baby will begin to suck when lips are touched which will eventually result in small blister on upper lip
