Cell membrane
The cell membrane controls what substances enter and leave the cell. It's a barrier between the cell and its environment
Cytoplasm
The cytoplasm is a gel like fluid that suspends the organelles. It also dissolves important chemicals that are needed for life.
Chromatin
Chromatin contains genetic material and genes for running the cell. Copies of the genes are called RNA.
Chromatin
Chromatin contains genetic material and genes for running the cell. Copies of the genes are called RNA.
Ribosomes
Ribosomes are found on the Endoplasmic Reticulum. They are very small and produce protein. They read the RNA instructions and use them to make protein.
Ribosomes
Ribosomes are found on the Endoplasmic Reticulum. They are very small and produce protein. They read the RNA instructions and use them to make protein.
Nucleus
The nucleus directs all of the cells activities including reproduction. It's the cells control center
Nuclear Envelope
The Nuclear enevelope protects all the things in the nucleus. Materials pass in and out through the pores.
Nucleolus
The nucleouls produces ribosomes.
Cell Wall
The Cell wall is a thin layer of non-living material surrounding the cell. Only in plant cells and bacteria.
Organelle
Organelles are tiny structures in the cell that have particular functions. Each organelle has a different function.
Nitochondrion
Mitochondria convert the energy from the food into energy that the cell can use. It requires OXYGEN to survive. It has 2 membranes.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
The rough Endoplasmic Reticulum transports proteins from the ribosomes to the golgi body. The rER is covered in Ribosomes. The smooth ER produces and transports fats throughout the cell.
Vacuole
The vacuole stores food, waste and water. Animal cells have many small ones or none. Plant cells have ONE large one.
Vacuole
The vacuole stores food, waste and water. Animal cells have many small ones or none. Plant cells have ONE large one.
Golgi body
The golgi bodies receives materials from the ER. It sorts them, packages them and sends them to other parts of the cell. It sends them to the outside of the cell, the membrane, or to become a lysosome. It's like th post office of the cell.
Lysosome
Lysosomes contain digestive enzymes which breaks down old worn out organelles, and big food particles.
Lysosome
Lysosomes contain digestive enzymes which breaks down old worn out organelles, and big food particles.
Chloroplast
is a site of photosynthesis, which is making food from sunlight and CO2. Oxygen is a waste product.
