For the driving test the examiner will?
Give me directions and watch my behavior scoring me.
If my test route doesn't have a specific traffic situation needed what happens?
The examiner will ask me to simulate a traffic situation and I will tell him what I am supposed to do in that situation.
What do I do when I am asked to make a turn?
Check traffic in all directions. Use turn signals and safely get into the lane needed for the turn.
What do I do as I approach the turn?
Use turn signals! Slow down smoothly.
What do I do if I must stop before making a turn?
Come to a smooth stop. Come to a complete stop behind the stop line, crosswalk, or stop sign. If I am stopping behind another vehicle make sure to stop where I can see their back tires. (Keep tires straight)
What do I do when ready to turn?
Check for traffic in all directions. Keep both hands on wheel. Check mirrors on inside of turn. Finish in correct lane.
What do I do after the turn?
Make sure my signal is off. Get up to speed and move into far right lane when able to do so.
What do I do with lane changes?
Check for traffic. Use turn signals to warn drivers. Change smoothly and turn the signal off when completed.
What do I do as I approach an intersection?
Check for traffic in all directions. Decelerate gently, brake smoothly. If necessary come to a complete stop behind any stop signs, signals, sidewalks, or stop lines. Maintain a safe gap behind all vehicles. Vehicle must not roll forward or backward after stopped.
What do I do when driving through an intersection?
Check for traffic in all directions. Decelerate and yield to any pedestrians and traffic. Do not change lanes. Keep both hands on the wheel.
What do I do after through the intersection?
Continue to check for traffic. Accelerate smoothly.
What do I do with urban/rural traffic?
Check for traffic, maintain safe following distance. Keep vehicle centered in lane. Keep up with flow of traffic but do not exceed posted limits.
What do I do with urban/rural lane changes?
Check for traffic, use signals, change lanes when safe to do so as normal.
What do I do before entering the freeway?
Check for traffic, use proper signals and merge smoothly!
What do I do once on the freeway?
Maintain proper lane position, distance, and speed. Check for traffic.
What do I do on the freeway when instructed to change lanes?
Turn on signals, Check for traffic and change lanes smoothly and when safe to do so. Remember the trailer!
What do I do on the freeway when exiting?
Check traffic, turn on the signals, decelerate smoothly in the exit lane. Once in the exit ramp continue to decelerate and maintain good following distance.
What do I do when they ask me to do a stop/start?
I must check traffic thoroughly in all directions and move to the far right lane or shoulder of the road.
What do I do as I prepare for the stop? (Stop/start)
Check traffic, signal, decelerate smoothly, bring my vehicle to a full stop without coasting in a safe place.
What do I do after I have stopped? (Stop/start)
I must be parallel to the curb/shoulder and off the road safely out of traffic. I should not be blocking driveways, fire hydrants, intersections, signs, etc. Turn off my turn signal and activate my four way flashers and emergency flasher. Apply the parking break. Put the truck in neutral. Take my foot of the service brake.
What do I do when instructed to resume? (Stop/Start)
Check for traffic in mirrors in all directions. Turn off all flashing lights 4-ways and strobes. Turn on the left turn signal. When safe release the parking break. Pull straight ahead WITHOUT turning the wheel. Check traffic and merge smoothly. After in the lane turn off signal and flow with traffic.
What do I do when I approach a curve?
Check for traffic. Reduce speed before entering the curve so braking isn't needed. Keep vehicle in lane and keep checking traffic.
What do I do when I approach a railroad crossing?
Decelerate smoothly. Look and listen for trains. Check for traffic. Once in the crossing keep moving and don't change lanes.
What do I do when I approach from under a bridge?
The examiner will ask what the height of the bridge is.
What do I do when I approach from the top of a bridge?
The examiner will ask me what the weight limit of the bridge is.
What do I do when passing signs?
Be ready to explain any sign the examiner asks about.
What do I need to know about the truck size?
The height!

The far right lane when possible. But follow instructions.
