What do you need to check for at the end of the station?
H and Ts
6 Hs-Hypovolemia, Hypoxia, Hydrogen ion (acidosis), Hypo/Hyperkalemia, Hypoglycemia, and Hypothermia.
5 Ts-Toxins, cardiac Tamponade, Tension pneumothorax, Thrombosis, and Trauma.
During CPR remember
-Push hard and fast (100/min) and ensure full chest recoil.
-Minimize interruptions in chest compressions.
-Avoid hyperventilation
-Rotate compressors every 2 minutes with rhythm checks.
-Search for treatable factors ie H and Ts
CPR cycles consist of what?
30 compressions the 2 breaths. 5 cycles is ~2 minutes.
After advance airway is place rescuers no longer have to deliver "cycles."
Treatment of unstable bradycardia:
-Prepare for transcutaneous pacing
-Attempt Atropine at 0.5 mg at max of 3mg. If ineffective begin pacing.

Treat contributing causes.
What does ACLS consider unstable?
Alter mental status, ongoing chest pain, hypotension, or other signs of shock.
What action do you take immediately after shock?
CPR
What do you treat stable V-Tach with?
Amiodarone 150mg IV over 10 mins.
Prepare for synchronized cardioversion.
Even if patient is stable you need to...
prepare for them to become unstable, ie prepare immediate synchronized cardioversion or defibrillation.
All patients get...
