EXTREME LONG SHOT (ELS)
The view is so far from the subject that they are not even visible. This is often used as an establishing shot.
VERY LONG SHOT (VLS)
The subject is visible (barely), but the emphasis is still on placing the subject in the environment.
LONG SHOT (LS)
The subject takes up the full frame, or as much of the frame as possible.
MID SHOT (MS)
This shot shows some part of the subject in more detail whilst still giving an impression of the whole subject.
MEDIUM CLOSE UP (MCU)
This show is halfway between a mid shot and close up shot.
CLOSE UP (CU)
In this shot a certain feature or part of the subject takes up the whole frame.
EXTREME CLOSE UP (ECU)
This shot zooms into the subject and shows extreme detail.
