The church hierarchy starts with the bishop who is the head of dioceses. Cardinal is the honerary title given to the bishop. Next is the head of the parish, the Priest, his honerary title is a monsignor. The assistant to the priest is a deacon. These men, if perminantly installed can be married. The different types of religious life are the monaticisms, which were founded by St. Benedict and are cloistered from the common life. The mendacants are followers of St. Francis of Assisi, these people are focused on serving the poor. The Apostolic people are followers of St. Ignatius of Loyola and are focused on serving others. The two level of laity are single, those who devote themselves to serving others, and married people who live out their Baptismal Promises by raising children in a Christian Life.
