Draw the anatomy of the right sided bronchial tree |
RUL=3=apical/ant/post bronchus intermedius RML=2=med/lateral RLL=5=apical/ant/post/lat/medial |
draw the bronchi view you would get at the carina, looking down the right proximal main bronchus.. what is special about RUL. |
R Main is short-2-3cm. RUL comes off at 3oclock. RUL is ONLY primary branch from main bronchus where you will see 3 divisions bronchus intermedius continues on. Trachealis muscle continues down B intermedius |
draw the view you will get at bronchi intermedius. |
The right middle lobe bronchus comes off at the top (12 o'clock) under it is the right lower lobe bronchus. this has a proximal branch at 6 o'clock (apical segment) and then goes down to the other 4 segments. |
outline the anatomy of the left sided bronchial tree. how is it similar/different to the right side. |
left is mirror image of right except only 2 main lobes. instead of upper/middle/lower it has upper (with 2 subsegments the superior and lingular) and a lower. both R+L upper lobes = 3 subunits (apical/post/ant) Both R middle + L lingular = 2 subunits Both lower lobes=5 sub units=apical, medial, lateral, post, ant. but left often has fused ant medial. |
Draw the left anatomy. |
at the upper lobe bifurf, the superior seg comes off at 12, the lingular at 6. |
draw the whole tree anatomy |
