Question 1: Is Creation a matter of fact or raith? Explain your answer.
FAITH - NOT FACT - because the Creationist view cannot be a part of sicence because no human has observed, measured, or recorded observations of Creation. Creation must be accepted on faith. (Note, also, that the evolutionist view cannot be a part of science for the same reason - no human has observed, measured, or recorded observations of the beginning of the universe or of the evolutionary processes that supposedly began and shaped living things.)
Question 2: List the teachings about Creation that are clearly taught in the Bible.
1. God created by direct acts.
2. God sustains His creation.
3. God reveals His power through His creation
4. God revealed the sequence of Creation in the Bible
5. God specially created man
6. God created man and man is responsible to God.
7. God's creation is degenerating (wearing out)
Question 3: Why is the earth no longer perfect?
Because of Adam and Eve's sin, God changed the world by cursing the ground.
Question 4: Briefly summarize the events that occurred on each of the six days of Creation.
1. Light and dark
2. Space to divide the waters
3. Land and plants
4. Sun, moon, and stars
5. Aquatic and flying creatures
6. Land animals and man
Question 5: Where specifically is the sequence of Creation recorded?
Genesis 1
Question 6: What theory states that living things are too complex to have evolved from nonliving chemicals by random processes?
intelligent design
Question 7: List the two Creation theories that deal with the length of day.
1. LITERAL VIEW - says it was really a 24-hour day.
2. LONG-DAY THEORY - says a day could be a thousand years
Question 8: List and summarize three compromise views of Creation.
(Compromise views try to explain how evolution and creation could work together)
1. GAP THEORY - says there was a "first creation" in Genesis 1:1, then the fall of Satan and the earth became without form, then there was a "re-creation" in Genesis 1:2-27
2. PROGRESSIVE CREATIONISM - says the earth is billions of years old tha that at certain widely-spaced times God created new batches of creatures.
3. THEISTIC EVOLUTION - While they claim to acccept the accurace of Scription, they say God used evolution as a method of creating the diversity of life seen today and that this took millions of years to happen.
Question 9: Why was a steering device unnecessary on Noah's ark? -
It wasn't going anywhere. It was just floating around waiting for the flood water to go away.
Question 10: Describe sedimentation.
Sedimentation occurs when materials settle out as a moving substance slows down. For example, as the water in a river slows down, materials such as soil, gravel, and dead organisms floating int he river settle ot the bottom. The materials that settle out are called "sediment."
