Why do we use microscopes?

To see things we can't see with the naked eye.

Why do we use light microscopes?

To see individual cells and large subcellular structures like nuclei from atoms.

Why do we use electron microscopes?

Because they use electrons instead of light so we get a higher magnification. We also get a higher resolution. (Sharper image).

What can we see with electron microscopes?

The internal structure of mitochondria and chloroplasts. Also, ribosomes and plasmids.

What is the equation for magnification?

Magnification = image size ÷ real size
