blue black
When testing for lipids the color will turn
reddish orange
when testing for a protein with bireut the color will turn

True or False
Plants store access sugar by capturing energy from the sunlight by photosynthesis. Using green pigment in their leaves to called chlorphyll makes sugar
True
An emulsifier keeps water and oils combined and stops them fro a period of time
True
Eukaryotic cells have nuclues
True
Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus
True
Eurkryotic DNA is linear
True
Prokarytotic is circular
True
Eukaryotic DNA is complex with DNA called histones
True
Prokarytic DNA is naked
True
Both Eukaryotic and Prokarytoic cells have riobsomes
True
Amoebas use pseudopods to move around (false feet)
True
Amoebas use pseudopods to move around (false feet)
True
Animal and plant cells both have
nucleus, cytoplasm, ribosomes, mitochondria and gogli asppartus
Animals cells have cillia
True
Animals cells don't have a chlorplast
True
Animal cells have one or more small vacuole
True
Plant cells have one large vacuole
True
Animal cells have a cell wall
True
Animal cells only have a plasma membrane
True
Plant cells have a plasma & membrane
True
Animal cells lysomes occure in cytoplasm
True
What is cytoplsmic streaming?
The movement of cytoplasm in such a way as to distribute cytoplasmic nutrients in different parts of the cell where it is needed
What is solute
a component of a solution
What is solvent
the dissolving substance
What is the solution
a homogeneous mixture formed by a single phase of liquid
What is concentration gradient
A gradual change in the concentration of solutes in a solutions as a function of distance through a solution
What is osmosis?
The net movement of water across a selectively permeable membrane driven by a difference in solute concentrations on two sides of a membrane
What is Tonicity?
The measure of the osmotic pressure gradient of two solutions separated by a semipermeable membrane
What is a hypotonic solution
Refers to any solution which has less solute. The cell will increase it's fluid intake
What is hypertonic solution
Water diffuses out of the cell, and the cytoplasm shrinks and gets more concentrated.
What is an isontic solution
Nothing. There is no difference between concentration's gradient and so no net flow of water from cytosol [liquid part of cytoplasm] to the solution in which cell is immersed occurs
