microscopes and DNA Microscopes let us see things that we can't see with the naked eye. you can use a light microscope to see small things in more detail. electron microscopes are more powerful than light microscopes. they let you see even smaller things in more detail. magnification is how much bigger the image is than the specimen. A DNA molecule has two strands coiled together in the shape of a double helixes. the two strands are held together by chemicals called bases.
