Division Hepatophyta
This division Hepatophyta is an example of a thallose liverwort.
Marchantia (Almost looks like clovers, but more dark green and thicker.)
The male gametophytes of liverwarts.
Antheridiophores (looks like a mushroom that does not droop down much)
The female gametophytes of liverwarts.
Archegoniophores (Looks like a mushroom that does droop down a lot)
The female gametophytes with mature 'what' attached, of liverwarts.
Sporophytes (The red area of the archegoniophores)
What is the thallus?
Like a mycelium in a fungus, the layer which rests at bottom.
These two organisms in the division hepatophyta are known as leafy liverworts.
Porella (looks blue with red wall surrounding every section sticking out) and Frullania (A dark green stick that has a clearish greenish surrounding)
This division is known as the hornworts. The name comes from the sporophyte which is shaped like a horn, going straight up.
Anthocerophyta
This division is know as the mosses.
Division Bryophyta.
This division bryophyta is a common acrocarpous (erect with terminal sporophytes) moss.
Mnium (antheridia are shorter than the archegonial and darker in color. The female is much longer and a deep red color.)
This division bryophyta is commonly called the haircap moss becasue of the shaggy calyptra covering the capsule.

What is the calyptra?
It is the hairy covering over the protective lid called the operculum.
What is the operculum?
It covers the peristome teeth and the epiphragm.
This division bryophyta is known as the peat mosses. You can see both chlorophyllose and hyaline cells.
Sphagnum (Hyalme cells are the large ones, while the chlorophyllose are the cells that run in between.)
