What is Polyandry?
The mating of one female with more than one male while each male mates with only one female. Males do no contribute to taking care of babies, (male peacock)
What is Polygyny?
(mate attraction, intersexual selection) ex. nest building, bower birds, unique displays
Compare and Contrast Chimpanzee and Bonobo?
Chimpanzee- patriarchal, alpha male dominance, violent sexual behavior, young are unknown of who the dads are, males do not kill babies because they dont know who is whose, continuous search for food led to no formation of bonds with females
Bonobo's- female dominance, peaceful sexual behavior (recreational),females eat together and form strong bonds, dominate the males, they eat together and the male aggression is lowered.

What is r-selection?
Many organisms living int he enviornment that have unstable resources are are producing a large number of offspring. (crabs are laying eggs for the males then invading the town, and completely taking over
What is k-selection?
Characterized by a low reproductive rate, species live in an enviornment with predictable resources and a low predation rate. Producing more babies that the moms cant take care of is useless and unnecessary. (carrying capacity)

1) scientific revolution- 15th century, galileo and newton
2) Immunization- 18th century , small pox
3) Sanitation- 19th century, germ theory, and louis pasteur
4) Antibiotics- 20th century
